| The Antibodypedia portal is a database developed within the 6th framework EU program ProteomeBinders, continued in the 7th framework EU project Affinomics and the project is part of the HUPO antibody initiative (HAI).
The portal contains information about antibodies directed to human protein targets available to the public through a commercial or academic provider. The database is organized in a "gene-centric" manner to allow users to get an overview of all available antibodies towards a particular human protein target. Two antibodies per gene and provider are displayed as default. All antibodies have direct links to the provider for easy access. All submission to and use of the database is free-of-charge.
Commercial providers can submit information regarding available antibodies with links to own validation data, while users must submit their own application-specific experimental data using a standard set of validation criteria (supportive, uncertain and non-supportive). Providers are allowed to submit user data on their own antibodies provided they follow the standard set of validation criteria. It is also possible for users to add comments regarding a specific antibody without providing validation data.
Only antibodies submitted from commercial or academic providers are included in the database. An antibody can at any time be withdrawn from the database by the provider and all data (from provider and users) regarding this antibody will, in this case, be removed. |
