All antibodies directed to human protein targets and available to the public through a commercial or academic provider can be submitted.
Commercial providers can submit information regarding available antibodies with links to own validation data, while users must submit their own application-specific experimental data using a standard set of validation criteria (supportive, uncertain and non-supportive). It is also possible to add comments regarding a specific antibody without providing validation data. Commercial providers can also submit user data (optional).
Commercial providers
Available antibodies are submitted with information regarding product number, antibody type, antigen type and link to antibody-specific information (provider web-address). The provider also list approved (validated) applications for the antibody (but do not need to submit experimental details, only link to providers own web pages). However, only applications with supporting data presented on the own web pages can be claimed as validated. The information can be provided through single submissions or batch submissions using the web interface. To submit provider data, create an account and login using the web interface. The commercial provider can at any time withdraw a particular antibody from the database and all user data and comments will also be withdrawn.
User validation
Users must submit their own experimental data regarding antibodies using standard application-specific validation scores as described under the "Validations" page. It is important to point out that the validation is subjective in nature and it is thus mandatory to submit the primary data for applications in the form of an image with text annotation, to allow the community to review the data behind the validation score. To submit user data, go to the "antibody details" page for the particular antibody and click "submit validation data". Commercial providers can also submit user data about their own antibodies.
Submit comments
Users are also allowed to send in comments to the portal about the use of a particular antibody and in this manner both positive and negative results from a particular antibody can be shared among the scientific community. The user can create an anonymous username, but needs to provide contact details through the login web interface (which are not shown to the public). To submit comments, go to the "antibody details" page for the particular antibody and click "submit comment".
